We have been asking about the blood and bone marrow donation process.. it sounds like neither can be done specifically for Georgia but if you donate blood or sign up to be a bone marrow donor then you will be increasing the pool in which they are drawing from for her. Here is a website that gives some additional info:

I know that a couple of dear friends are organizing blood drives so I will certainly pass along any information I have on those.
I keep saying this but the support we feel from all of you is amazing and although we haven't seen many of you in person lately I get so much comfort from so many kind words. I am so blessed to have the support from friends and family and am amazed at how Georgia's story is reaching far and wide.

  1. Handsaker Family,

Alexis informed us a few days ago about the battle Georgia is going to win. I just wanted to let you know (as first time parents as well) we are thinking about you both and praying for your little girl. In fact, my entire Chief Leschi Elementary staff is praying for your little Georgia. Fight the good fight and remember love conquers all...

  2. As I start my day, I can't help but think of you and your lack of sleep and privacy for so many days. I hope you can find time to take care of yourself because you need your health now more than ever. My dear friend, Denise was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer this year & can't care of her 1 & 3 year old (and older kids).

We found a great website to help her --> www.lotsahelpinghands.com/ <--

It helps us coordinate volunteer time for friends and family, like making dinner, doing housework, babysitting ... whatever she needs help with. She doesn't have to ask for help, she just enters her monthly schedule, meal requests, important medical procedure dates, etc. Then we sign up for what we can do to help! :D

I know it's hard to ask for help as a mom because you feel like you can do everything. But you can't. This site makes it easy :-) I hope you'll check it out. It's been an invaluable resource for us!

Though we were not close friends as co-workers at WaMu, we are both moms. As a mom, I know it's un-bearable to see your child suffer and you can't imagine leaving their side for one moment. I hate that you have to experience such pain!

Georgia doesn't understand what's happening, but I know she feels safe and loved with you and Brian there with her.

You may feel helpless, out of control, or wish you could do more for Georgia. But it's clear she has an amazing mommy & daddy and is tremendously loved and cared for.

Your love is more valuable in her fight, than anything else - it gives her strength to kick cancer's butt!

You are an inspiration to me! I will keep your family in my prayers,

    Terry
