Big Stander

Looks like we're starting out month nine with a bang.. Georgia started to pull herself up in her crib about 15 minutes after I lowered it today.. while she was working on it I ran downstairs and grabbed the camera, when I got back she was standing with a HUGE smile on her face and let out a giggle... she let herself down and I was able to capture pull up number two! I am so bummed that I shot this video the wrong way and can't rotate it but you get the idea and can practically feel the pride in Georgia!

Nine Months Old

I think I am starting to repeat myself but I cannot believe that you are nine months old today Georgia! The past month has been a big one.. you sort of took notice to the world around you.. smiling at just about everything, including the people in cars next to us when we're stopped at lights. You are such a happy, social girl! You have started babbling or chatting all the time and you have a huge desire to crawl and pull yourself up on things. I'm pretty sure you think daddy walks on water because without fail every time you see him you get a huge smile on your face. You are still my snuggle bug.. even tonight as I got you ready for bed in your 12-18mo PJ's (they're still a little big). I love you sweet Georgia girl!

Getting ready for our hike today

Summer days continue

We spent the first part of this week enjoying the hot weather at Nana & Bawdy's neighborhood beach club. Georgia had a blast going to the beach for the past two days, watching the kids, playing in the water and of course eating sand. The first afternoon Leslie and the kids came over too so Georgia got a little cousin time! Thanks to Kathye & Jim for a great couple of days!

This place is great!

Look, I can lay just like Nana

Ok Lauren, let's get you out of this thing so we can play

A day at the beach

We spent this beautiful day with some great friends in the perfect location... I've know Jody since the early days of college and it was so fun to catch up with her and her family today. Her parents have done a beautiful job totally redoing what use to be their beach house and is now their full time residence on the south sound. We had the kids pool, the ocean and air conditioning inside! Thank you to Jody & Brian and Denny & Amy for a wonderful day.

Just for fun..

Here are some "just because" photos of a girl I couldn't be any more in love with!

Welcome Baby Kallie

Yesterday our good friends Kristy and Eric welcomed their baby girl a month early. Needless to say they were pretty surprised but are already naturals. I visited them and met baby Kallie this afternoon, she is 5lbs 9oz which approximately 1/4 the size (weight) of Georgia.. crazy!

Here is a pic of Kristy and her sweet baby girl.. congrats Bates family!

Seeking Bandmates...

Okay, so I'm not looking for any music scholarships but I have to admit I am pretty impressed with my eight month old!

On your mark...

Time is limited in the Handsaker household.. we are going to need to do some baby proofing before we know it! Our little lady is getting more confident and eager to cruise around on her own. Just today she was on all fours rocking back and fourth and she has learned how to stand on her own (while holding onto something).. such an independent girl!

Green Thumb

We came back from vacation to find a zucchini almost as big as Georgia.. Brian must have a green thumb!

Lake Thomas.. a little piece of heaven

Brian has a book on northwest hiking and camping and under the section that covers Lake Thomas it refers to this area as god's country because of it's beauty. Every summer growing up I went to Lake Thomas with my mom, sister, aunt and her girls. We grew up going to a cabin that my great grandfather built, this is the same cabin that my mom also grew up going to... needless to say this place has a lot of special memories. A few years after my mom passed away my aunt bought a cabin three doors down from the original cabin, we are so thankful to be able to continue this family tradition. This year I was thrilled to introduce my daughter to a place that I refer to as a little piece of heaven.
